Inspiring the next generation of filmmakers is one of our favorite things to do. We recently had the pleasure of hosting the South Kamloops Secondary School (SKSS) Film Club for a field trip at our Vancouver facility!

During their visit, the students participated in an intensive cinematography workshop designed to introduce them to the Vancouver film industry. Our team guided them through the basics of filmmaking, providing hands-on experience with premier cinema cameras and lenses, as well as hands-on training for Steadicam operation.

Seeing their enthusiasm and curiosity reminds us why we love this industry. A big thank you to the SKSS Film Club for visiting - we can't wait to see what you all create next!

We sat down with DP Brandon Cox, an AFI Conservatory graduate and twenty-four-year martial artist, to discuss his second collaboration with director RZA, starring Shameik Moore. Brandon walked us through his Shotdeck-based visual development process — printing over a hundred reference sheets to build the film’s look with RZA from the ground up — the decision to shoot on ARRI Alexa Mini with Hawk V-Lite Vintage ’74 anamorphics, and a grade pushed hard into 1970s exploitation film territory by design.
