Cullman Commission on Aging

Monday was another long, fun-filled day, and it did not disappoint!

Our first stop was a beautiful cranberry farm owned by Leo and Andrea Cakounes in Harwich, Massachusetts. This amazing couple operates a stunning 17-acre cranberry bog, and we enjoyed learning about cranberry farming. An added bonus was getting to spend time with their sweet pups—Ted, Murray, and Riley—who quickly became everyone's favorites!

Next, we visited the Salt Pond Visitor Center at Cape Cod National Seashore. We explored the informative exhibits, took in the breathtaking scenery, and enjoyed the beauty of the Cape.

From there, we traveled to the very tip of Cape Cod and spent the afternoon in Provincetown. Everyone enjoyed lunch, shopping, and exploring this charming beach town filled with unique shops and coastal charm. On our way to Provincetown we spotted a couple of lighthouses - the red one red in the picture you might recognize from the Cape Cod potato chips!

We wrapped up another wonderful day with an incredible dinner at Alberto's Ristorante. No one left hungry after choosing from delicious entrées including lasagna, Salmon Porto Fino, Pork Milanese, or eggplant. The perfect ending to the meal was the unforgettable Tartufo dessert—vanilla ice cream with a mango and passion fruit center, wrapped in white chocolate and topped with raspberry sauce.

Another day full of beautiful sights, great food, new experiences, and wonderful memories together!
