Love getting to work with the Roaring Start program! This onboarding session is designed for the WSCC staff members - to help introduce them to WSCC culture and policies, as well as connect them to a cohort of other “new” employees in their first year of employment! ✅
I love the idea of building community - especially when our roles may be isolated or for employees who are “individual contributors”.

I’m usually the one reminding people to set goals, stay motivated, and reconnect to their purpose.

But for the past eight months, I got the chance to be on the other side… learning, listening, and being poured into.

I have so many takeaways - but these two messages seemed to pop up in every session (I obviously needed to hear them):

• Leave some blank space.
We fill our calendars so easily. Every hour accounted for, every day “productive.”
But without space to think, reflect, and just be still… there’s no room to actually grow.

• You are not alone.
Leadership can be isolating at times, especially as a female leader.
Being in a room with women who openly shared the same pressures, doubts, and questions was a reminder I didn’t know I needed. There’s something powerful about finding people who just get it… no explanation required.

So thankful for and the incredible women I’ve met, learned from, and walked alongside this year.

If you’ve ever thought about applying for one of their programs… do it. This is one of those experiences that truly delivers.
