We have talked about toxins in products... how about toxins in our foods!🍞🥨🌭

I am not a proponent of fad diets, but of eating real food. Lots of veggies, fruit and whole grains that haven't been processed a ton. Lean meats that are grass fed and grass finished or game meats whenever possible. 🥦🍓🥑🍍🫑🥒

Learn to read labels! Not sure where to begin? Let me know, I would love to start you on this journey to a life full well!

The FDA does not review the safety of food additives when new science reveals potential health risks. That means there are thousands of food products on U.S. store shelves containing chemicals linked to health harms.

We created a guide so that you can avoid the worst food additives allowed on US store shelves. https://bit.ly/2WixVeo

Sometimes you just need to nourish your body with good food, added to that the nourishment of you heart with a great friend. Then pile on soul food with a night of worship and great teaching at the church that has taught me so much in this past year.

This was my first night out since surgery and I can't even tell you how filled up I am this morning!

What are you doing for self care this weekend? It doesn't look the same for each of us and it isn't always a spa day...

As we continue on this journey, I want to introduce you to a term I will be using GREENWASHING.

So what is “geeenwashing?”

In super simple terms, it's when a company markets or presents itself as an environmentally conscious company or that its products are safe and healthy to use, but in reality they are achieving neither of these things - their marketing is suggesting conscious, safe practices, but if you dig past their fluffy buzz words, you find it is not actually true.

Why would a company greenwash?

Money! It's a lot cheaper to spend "a little" money on advertising and marketing that touts being "green" and "eco-friendly,” than actually investing a huge amount of money, time, and energy into transforming their practices and standards to greener, safer methods.

How to spot it

The following terms are often red flags of a greenwashed product. If you see some of these on the label of a product, train that to be a trigger for you to be skeptical and look beyond the front label. Most of these terms are completely unregulated and can be used purely for marketing and hold no real meaning.
