Amazon Sidewalk is going global in 2026, and the technology behind it is LoRa -- the same low-power, long-range radio protocol used in industrial IoT networks worldwide.

What makes this remarkable: Amazon built a network covering 95% of the U.S. population without deploying a single tower. They used the 600 million Echo and Ring devices already in customers' homes as gateways.
