The Willows Hospice

We are looking for Volunteers to join our Willows Hospice Team! If you are interested in volunteering, please give us a call at 219-332-5101. Whether a first-time or seasoned hospice volunteer, you can become a part of a growing group of dedicated caregivers who ‘Bring the Calm’ to our patients and their families while navigating them through the last chapters of a loved one’s journey. We look forward to meeting you!

Here’s an example of how our staff will bring the calm during such an emotionally vulnerable time. If you need help, understanding a diagnosis, resources available, or just someone to pray with you. The Willows Hospice is here to meet your needs 

What does a "good" hospice visit look like?

It looks like listening. Really listening.

Our nurses take time to understand each patient's unique needs, fears, and wishes. We ask questions. We explain things clearly. We're present— not pushy or rushed.

A good hospice visit means:
✨ Skilled symptom management so patients are comfortable to experience quality moments with their families
✨ Clear conversations with families about what to expect so fear and anxiety are not controlling their time and decisions.
✨ Respect for each person's values and choices so you feel heard, understood and valued.
✨ Connection in every interaction, so trust can grow because no one should go through this journey alone.

At The Willows Hospice, we believe quality care means taking the time to truly know and support each patient and family weather they are ready for hospice or just confused about how to get more support.
