“They’ll grow out of it.” 🚩 Heard that before? So have our patients—too many times.

At Well-Rooted Pediatrics, we don’t do brush-offs.
We don’t do Band-Aid fixes.
And we definitely don’t do “wait and see.”

We believe every symptom has a story—and our job is to listen.
Whether it’s chronic constipation, mystery rashes, constant meltdowns, or that nagging feeling something just isn’t right... we dig deeper.

Because when you get to the root, you get real results.
✨ Functional medicine, made just for kids.

Anthem and BCBS patients from the past, present, and future:

We need your help with something incredibly important.

Did you know that your policy is supposed to cover lactation 100% as a preventative service, but lactation consultants can’t currently directly contract with Anthem/BCBS in Indiana? In addition, our options for billing out of network have essentially vanished so families are stuck paying out of pocket and hoping for reimbursement.

IBCLCs hold the highest credential in lactation and invest hundreds of dollars and hours to maintain it, but we’re currently not considered qualified healthcare providers. If you want to see an MD or NP who has zero lactation specific education, they’ll cover that. But not us. We’re asking you, their paying members, for help with changing this.

What you can do: write a letter to the company detailing how important lactation support is or has been to you, and how you would benefit from a model that allows IBCLCs to contract at a fair market wage. Send it to [email protected] (PDF is preferred) and we will provide it to Anthem as a collection with letters from providers.

* This is an urgent request as anthem board members will meet Friday 7/12 to discuss the possibility opening the network to IBCLCs. If you are able to write a letter and send it by 7/11, we can have it sent ahead of the meeting.
