I took this picture this morning and I love seeing all my paints reflected in the mirror!! I feel like it perfectly captures my workspace.

Remember last week when I said I got my color palette wrong on this sideboard? Well I fixed it!

This is after the second coat of blending. It’s a work in progress but if I’ve learned anything about creating content over the last 9 years, it’s that you all enjoy the work in progress photos over the finished photos 😂😂. Y’all make me crazy sometimes 🤪.

Now that the colors and placement of colors are decided, I’ll go into phase 2 of designing.

In phase 2 I will decide what, if any, embellishments will be added. I’ll also perfect the blending and the paint finish. As well as place the colors more intentionally around the decoupage to blend it into the buffet.

I recorded the blending so far so I’ll put that up as soon as I edit it! Probably tomorrow morning or even Monday because I have a hot date tonight 😉.

One of my favorite finishes is when it looks like a piece of turquoise jewelry from a super fancy boutique you’d find in a southwest state on vacation! That was my inspiration here.

Back in 2019, when I painted literally everything, I couldn’t bring myself to paint this piece. And at the time it felt like I couldn’t give it away as wood! Eventually it sold and shipped to another state. It’s still one of my favorite wood pieces I’ve done! Would you have painted this piece or restored it to wood like I did here?
