Fred Cantu is one of the busiest musicians on the scene today. Currently, he is featured as the lead trumpet with the Buddy Rich Big Band, and he also performs as a regular member of Grammy nominated Cuban jazz pianist Chuchito Valdes’ Ensemble. He started playing trumpet at the age of 14. Under the direction of Louis Ricci after playing trumpet just one month he was moved to the top concert band. By end of his second year he was playing principle trumpet in the Chicago All City High School Band. After High School Fred went to UIC then Roosevelt University where he was a music major and studied with Orbert Davis, Art Davis, Betty Eilers, Rob Parton and others.

During this time he worked as a lead trumpet player for artists such as Selena, Olga Tanon. After school Fred went on to play lead trumpet for Trent Carlini, 911 Mambo Orchestra, Danilo Perez, The Temptations and Willie Wilson to name just a few.

He performs as a regular member of Grammy nominated Cuban jazz pianist Chuchito Valdes’ Ensemble performing major jazz festivals around the country. He also tours worldwide with the Elvis Tribute Tour for Elvis Presley Enterprises.

Fred’s trumpet playing can be heard and seen every Sunday on WGN’s Singsation which reaches over a million viewers each week. His trumpet can also be heard on many recordings from Chicago, New York, and Las Vegas. In addition, Fred leads his own 13 piece Big Band (The Fred Cantu Big Band) which performs regularly around the Chicagoland area.

As a lead/jazz trumpet player Fred has toured with Chuchito Valdez, Ricardo Lemvo, Jose Valdes, and many more. Fred has played lead trumpet for 18 years on WGN's TV Show Singsation and currently plays lead trumpet for the Elvis Tribute Tour and Legends tour.

Fred leads his own Big Band The Fred Cantu Big Band which will be releasing their first CD later this year. He also leads the Fred Cantu Quintet both groups perform his original compositions and arrangements.

Performing into the stratosphere one moment and a warm mellow flugelhorn solo the next, Fred's trumpet and music will draw you into his music world and his love of music.

Fred continues to perform over 200 dates a year, including guest artist appearances, clinics, and many shows around his native Chicagoland area.

He will be backed up by The Time Chasers Band - Di'Kobie Berry, Kris Lohn and Andy Sutton

Patti Shaffner performs a wide variety of musical styles including, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Theater and Improvisational Singing with ease. She writes and performs her own music, solo as well as collaboratively. As a seasoned performer, Patti is dynamic and engaging on stage. Her music is thought provoking and reaches out to the heart of our longing for connection with love and hope. She puts her heart and soul into whatever she sings.

She has studied improvisational singing with both Bobby McFerrin and Mistress of Improv Singing, Rhiannon, and is skilled at leading groups of all ages in the style of spontaneous song known as ‘Circle Singing’.

In 2015 her song ‘Blessings’ won her the First in Singer/Songwriter Category of The Great American Song Contest. She has garnered other awards and honors for her songwriting skills.

Patti performs Solo, with the Folk Trio, SongSisters: Amy Dixon-Kolar and Sue Fink and with Jazz Musicians Leandro Lopez Varady, Scott Pazera, Lannie Turner, Bill Romer, Buddy Pearson & The BP3 and others.
