The crews are there chipping 4-6" of solid ice on the walks and have been for 2 days. It may take 1.5 more. What once took 30 minutes now takes 2 hours. They were done once during the storm ( in - 4 degree temps in the storm and then the rain ice in the middle of the night. ) . They worked soaking wet in negative 4 degree temps all night. Then, everything froze solid. I haven't seen this situation in 24 years of snow removal.
It's slow going. First Salt, then chip with a pic / axe, then shovel, and repeat every 2". It's slow going and there is not much I can do but keep going. Please feel free to attach or forward the video to the residents or social media page.

2026 Ice snow storm is a whole different type of clean up. Please bare with us as we are working long hours in freezing temperatures banging away at the ice nonstop.
