Kada's Promise

As much as I try to be Superwoman, the truth is I can’t be in multiple places at once, and this week my mama heart is feeling that more than ever. So many national pageants across the country are honoring my sweet love bug, Kadance, and while my heart wants to be at every single one of them, tomorrow we are leaving for Orlando for the International United Miss and Miss Ultimate USA pageants, which meant I couldn’t also make it to USA National Miss after their pageant moved to the Atlanta area this year. Every opportunity to honor Kadance means more to me than I could ever put into words, so not being able to be there was incredibly difficult. I am so grateful to the entire USA National Miss organization for honoring Kadance’s beautiful legacy and allowing her light to continue shining through this special award. Since I couldn’t be there myself, I asked our dear friend Caleb to present Kadance’s award to its deserving recipient on my behalf, and without hesitation, he stepped in for me. Caleb, there simply are not enough words to express the love and gratitude I have for you. Thank you for standing in my place, for representing my girl with so much love, and for helping make sure this meaningful moment still happened even though her mama couldn’t be there. Losing Kadance has left a hole in my heart that will never be filled, but seeing her remembered, celebrated, and honored reminds me that her love, her heart, and her legacy are still changing lives. From the deepest part of this mama’s heart, thank you to everyone who continues to love my girl and carry her light forward. 💜
