✋ Who here gets nervous when they start hearing things about “credit pulls”?

You’re not alone, and honestly, this is a good thing to spend some time thinking about because you can actually negatively impact your credit score by doing hard pulls.

Here’s a handy guide to when to use soft pulls and hard pulls.

☁️ Soft Pulls: This is like a peek into your credit score. You can do a soft pull on your credit through your bank or apps like Credit Karma.

These pulls do NOT show up on your credit report and do not affect your score. This is the pull to use when you’re getting your finances ready to buy a home.

⛓️ Hard Pulls: These are a full look into your credit history and are typically done when applying for a pre-approval and a mortgage.

A hard pull DOES show up on your credit report and will temporarily decrease your score by a few points. Only use a hard pull when you know you’re ready to buy a home and want to start looking.
