Climate Jobs Rhode Island

CJRI was thrilled to attend the ribbon cutting for URI’s new Ocean Robotics Lab! 

This world-class facility will provide students and researchers with cutting-edge laboratories, equipment, and technology while strengthening Rhode Island’s position as a national leader in the blue economy. 

We were excited to hear that URI is exploring geothermal at the Bay Campus with support from Rhode Island Energy, with plans to use thermal energy to help power the campus. 

URI is a major economic engine for our state, generating billions in economic activity each year and helping prepare the next generation of workers for high-quality careers. The opening of the Ocean Robotics Lab is another example of Rhode Island investing in innovation, research, and good jobs. 

With half of Climate Jobs being URI alum, this was an amazing moment. Thank you, URI, for your leadership and vision!
