We know you’ve heard the news of our family deli closing, Gutierrez Deli. Sergio started his entrepreneurial journey in this space as a young man, and learned everything he needs to know from his father. Without Gutierrez Deli, there would be no Olla. Today we are reaching out to our community in a more vulnerable setting, and asking for help. We have created a Meal Train Fund to raise money for our Father, Mother, and little sister, as they transition into this next phase of life. They will be dealing with a lot of moving and ongoing expenses, while simultaneously losing the majority of their income for an undetermined amount of time. We wanted to thank everyone for reaching out to us, we promise we see your messages and comments. We have been in a state of shock honestly, Gutierrez Deli has been more than a neighboring business for us- Claudio and his family are the heart of this little corner of the Cov. We love you so very much, Gutierrez Deli!!!

It is with heavy hearts that we share some news we never imagined we’d have to write.

Gutierrez Deli has been notified by our landlord that our lease will not be renewed, and we have been instructed to vacate the building by July 1st.

After 15 years of serving the Covington community, this next month will be our last month at our current location.

This store has been so much more than a business. It has been a place where friendships were made, where generations of families stopped in for lunch, where kids spent their allowance money, where neighbors caught up with one another, and where our family built a name and a life. Gutierrez Deli helped shape who we are, and we are deeply saddened to see this chapter come to an end.

Over the next few weeks, we would love nothing more than to see the community that has supported us for the last 15 years. Stop in for some tacos, share a memory, tell us your favorite story, bring a photo, or simply give us a hug. Every conversation means the world to us right now.

While this location is closing, we are not ready to give up on Gutierrez Deli. We believe there is still a place for us in Covington, and we hope this is not goodbye forever. Camp Kit slayed, that’s the only way to describe it?! Imagine you are a teenager and you just spent three days boppin around the Cov for inspo, and coming back to Artmarkit to create and make alongside others? Eating lunch at local small businesses each day? A slay.
❤️Monday we went to with a budget, and purchased something to customize and make our own. Evie got a vintage purse that needed some love, Ruth color matched it, repainted and sealed it. Collaboration. We had lunch from 🍕Tina, you are such a rockstar for picking it up and delivering it to us!
💛Tuesday was all about corner stores and culinary: we created a flag for after a little visit and snack shopping. We spent time sewing the base using our friend Ginny’s old machine she found in her basement (thank u chica!!) lunch from our birthday neighbors, and then ended the day celebrating their 5th year by customizing birthday hats!
💙 Wednesday we went out on the town - Scribble Park, neighborhood tours, lunch at both and and then an afternoon treat from ! The last bit of our day was dedicated to finishing up any other pieces - and some amazing things came out of the end of the day! Painted pants and button ups, keychains, more linocut blocks.

Thank you to every camper, you all are the most fun to hang out and make art with! Thank you for being the first group of campers ever!!!

A massive shoutout is due to for their Event Sponsorship. With their contribution, we were able to hire our youth worker for 3 weeks of camp and sponsor two campers.
