Hello FB peeps. Just thought I would give a courtesy heads up before somebody swells up. We have had a mild summer up till this past week. It's been wet, cloudy, and cool at night. We have been seeing a lot of ground hornet nests in residential flowerbeds but mainly in yards, We have seen more this year than we saw all of last year combined. They are aggressive and pack a hell of a punch and if you aren't looking for them you are on top of the nest before you know it..I have been stung over 20 times 3 or 4 different times. It sucks!!!!! If you do find a nest. It's best to exterminate them right at dusk (they calm down and all come back to the nest) with gasoline or hornets spray. 1 can of hornets spray will just make them angry. Load them up with 2 to 3 cans or pour gasoline into the nest and light it and watch the real fire flies from a long distance. Most importantly watch your pets, because they can get attacked by multiple hornets and carry them in the house or can even die from being stung so many times.
