Covington Classical Academy

Students had an impactful day at Tikkun Farm! The day began with a tour of the farm, including a community garden where neighbors can harvest fresh fruits and vegetables, complete with raised beds and community compost and mulch areas.

They spent time in the pasture with over 50 chickens, 2 turkeys (including Emma, who is the friendliest turkey ever known), and a llama.

This was a service Fifth Day, where students not only learned more about farming and gardening, but also gave back to their community; one group of students deadheaded plants and pulled weeds to prepare for spring growth, another group spread mulch around raised beds, and a third group separated donated pots for future use.

It was a wonderful experience and we are grateful to have been a part of their day!
