SB 1507 passed out of the Senate yesterday! Thank you to the 17 senators from across the state who voted YES. This is a critical first step to creating an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.

"Ann Cudd has worked tirelessly to threaten student safety on campus by calling in the notoriously violent Portland Police Bureau, who, to no one's surprise, brutalized student protesters on campus. She also prioritizes real estate deals rather than affordable education at an access-institution. Under her leadership, Portland State terminated the director of the Women's Resource Center during Sexual Assault Awareness Month without a plan on how to support student survivors. The director was given a notice of no-cause termination, but many believe it was directly related to their advocacy and educational programming of Palestinian liberation."

"When programs are eliminated and courses are canceled, students lose access to required classes, which can delay graduation. Some may have to change majors entirely. Others will face larger class sizes and reduced access to faculty advisors. Student support services, from mentoring to mental health counseling, often face the deepest cuts."
