It’s summer training week, and we can already tell we have a phenomenal team! Their summer adventure began this week at our headquarters, where staff have been camping out together, cooking shared meals, practicing skills, and planning new survival scenarios for the summer season.

They’re excited to share some new skills - bipod tarp shelters and pioneering structures - so kids can engineer free-standing tents, watchtowers, ladders, and elevated platforms!

If you’ll be joining us in the summer, you can expect to see some of these faces. All of them have proven this week to be highly committed, intentional, and caring guides. We can’t wait to hear stories from the adventures they lead!

Dan Coyle “Smolder” - our founder - lights this program’s first campfire with a demonstration of friction fire. At outdoor school, kids get a chance to see fire enkindled the old way - with sticks, a string, a rock, and human will.
