Week 2 of the Campaign was one for the books! Spent the week lobbying for higher education funding in Salem and have met some incredible groups of people, from OSU's Amateur Radio Club to OSU's Advocates for Freethought and Skepticism. We also want to thank the many fraternities and sororities that were kind enough to have us this week: Sigma Chi Fraternity Beta Pi Chapter, Acacia Fraternity (OSU), Kappa Alpha Theta OSU, Lambda Chi Alpha - Oregon State University, and Panhellenic Council at Oregon State University.

The man, the myth, the legend - meet Aiden Tariku. Hyper involved and ready for more, Aiden loves what he does and plans to continue engaging with his community. He studies Economics and wants to apply the lessons he’s gained in his major to the Vice-Presidency if elected.

His experience at Oregon State University has only become richer as his years have passed. Freshman year is an odd time for most as it was for Aiden, and to combat the feeling of displacement Aiden felt upon arriving in 2015, he pursued campus involvement.

Far too often, leaders make the mistake of placing themselves on the top of the pyramid, or the front of the pack. This mentality separates “leaders” from their electors. If elected, Aiden will be a follower in the sense that he will listen to the wants and needs of the student body and take action until a solution is found.
