If you say, “Sit… Sit… SIT!” your dog is learning that the first two commands don’t matter.

Give the command once. If your dog doesn’t respond, calmly help them complete the behavior, then reward the correct response. Consistency teaches accountability, while repeating commands teaches your dog to wait you out.
