Martha Taylor Obituary - Corinth, MS 07/07/2026

Martha Taylor

A Celebration of Life Service for Martha Taylor will be 11am on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Visitation will be from 10am until service time at Pate-Jones Funeral Home.

Martha Lee Patrick Taylor — "Martee" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren — was born August 27, 1941, in Arkabutla, Mississippi, and met her Savior on July 4, 2026. She spent most of her life as a proud resident of Tate County before moving to Corinth in her final years to be close to family. No matter the zip code, Martha's greatest joy never changed — being surrounded by the people she loved.

Martha built a long, successful career in banking, retiring as Vice President and Branch Manager of Peoples Bank of Coldwater. She was known around town for her dedication, loyalty, work ethic, and the relationships she built over decades in the community she called home.

But Martha wasn't just a banker behind a desk. She water-skied, danced, played basketball — and she brought her fun-loving, competitive energy to it every time, especially while cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels. She loved the outdoors and always made a home for “her” bluebirds in her yard and loved watching them every day. She kept a garden and a yard she took real pride in, always finding a way to make the world around her a little more beautiful.

Paling in comparison to any of that, Martha loved her family and spending time with them. Her daughters, Jackie and Kim, were her whole world. When the grandchildren came — Taylor, Logan, Leigh and Reagan — that world got a little bigger and sweeter. When the great-grandchildren started arriving, Martee had more to love.

For Martha, the best moments in life were never complicated. A church service. A family gathering. An afternoon with her grandkids. Just being together. That was enough. That was everything. Well, throw in a mimosa… or a glass of wiiiiiineee.

Martha will be remembered for her love of life, her devotion to her Savior and family, her flowers and gardens, and the countless memories she left behind with the people closest to her – triggered by a cheese wheel, a real Coca-Cola, Snickers, peanuts, or a Cadillac. Within her family circle, she was famous for her pork chop casserole and pear salad, Coke salad, and Christmas morning sausage balls. Her legacy is the family she loved so deeply in the day-to-day moments – the ordinary, and the generations who will carry that love and practice, and her memory, forward.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Jackie Coombs (Mark) and Kim Ayers; her grandchildren, Taylor Moak (Drew), Logan Ayers (Sadie), Leigh Ferrell (Jonathan), and Reagan Ayers; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Martha Moak, Thea Ferrell, Warren Moak, Penelope Ferrell, and Arthur Ayers.

She is also survived by her like-a-sister cousin, Anne Wheeler Brooks (Jerry), along with many nieces and nephews, family members, and friends who were blessed to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Patrick Sr. and Floy Patrick; her sisters, Frances Thaggard, Tula Mae Carlisle, and Wynette Yount; and her brothers, Clarence Patrick Jr. and Tate Patrick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
