Don't let yesterday's obedience become today's excuse for disobedience.

Moses had seen God do incredible miracles. He had walked with Him, heard His voice, and led His people through impossible situations.

But one moment of allowing frustration to override obedience changed everything.

Instead of following God's instruction, Moses acted in his own strength. His flesh took over, and the consequences were significant.

It's a powerful reminder that knowing what God did yesterday is not the same as obeying what He's saying today.

Every decision has consequences.
Every act of obedience matters.
Every moment is an opportunity to surrender our will to His.

God isn't looking for people who simply know His ways—He's looking for hearts that will continually obey His voice.

✨ Don't let pride, frustration, or familiarity drown out God's direction. Stay surrendered. Stay teachable. Stay obedient.

💭 Reflection: Is there an area where you've been relying on what you've always done instead of listening for what God is asking you to do today?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." — Proverbs 3:5

🪓 5-Day Devotional – Day 5: When the Axe Head Floats

Have you ever felt like you've lost something you can't replace?

In 2 Kings 6, a borrowed axe head sank to the bottom of the river. It seemed impossible to recover. Yet instead of condemnation, God made a way where there seemed to be none. Through Elisha, the impossible happened—the iron floated.

What a picture of God's grace.

Sometimes our own mistakes, failures, poor decisions, or disappointments feel like a sunken axe head. We bury them in shame, believing they're too far gone for God to restore.

But God doesn't ask us to hide our brokenness.

He asks us to bring it to Him.

The miracle didn't begin when the axe head floated. It began when someone was honest enough to say, "I've lost it."

When we surrender our failures to God, He can redeem what we thought was beyond recovery. He is still the God who restores, redeems, and does the impossible.

✨ Your failure is not the end of your story. In God's hands, what has sunk can rise again.

📖 Scripture of the Day:
"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control..."
— 2 Peter 1:5–7 (ESV)

💭 Reflection:
What "sunken axe head" have you been carrying in silence? Is there a failure, regret, or broken area of your life that you've been afraid to bring before God? His grace is greater than your guilt, and His power is greater than your past.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You that nothing is beyond Your power to redeem. Help me lay down my shame and trust You with every broken place in my life. Restore what has been lost, strengthen my faith, and use my testimony for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you for joining us for this week's 5-Day Devotional! We pray these daily reflections have encouraged you to trust God more deeply, surrender more completely, and walk more faithfully with Him. We can't wait to see you this Sunday at North Pointe Church!
