It shouldn't be a surprised that downtown Conway is looking very festive and patriotic. If you're out enjoying the day, there are lots of perfect spots for photos. Winnie gives this year's display two paws up.

I was fortunate enough to be invited by the owners to attend a demo yoga session before the official grand opening, and it was one of the most intense and rewarding yoga experiences I’ve personally ever been part of.
As someone who is definitely still a beginner, I never once felt intimidated. The instructor made the class feel welcoming, encouraging, and completely doable while still challenging in the best way. I not only survived the session, (every muscle is still reminding me of it… in a good way) but have felt recharged and already looking forward to my next session when they are open for business.
I appreciate the owners sharing a preview of what's to come with me. They are striving to create a unique and special place for the community.
They’ll be holding their Ribbon Cutting on June 16 at 9:30 AM, followed by a Community Day celebration on June 19 featuring live music and donation based yoga. If you want to know more, they have a website: https://www.yogadelic.life/

One of the really great things about living in the Conway area is having access to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Coastal Carolina University. (OLLI) You can check out the courses on their website. Some are free and some are offered at a reasonable cost.
If you’re 50+, it’s such an incredible opportunity to keep learning, meeting people, exploring new interests, and staying engaged through a wide variety of classes, workshops, and presentations. From history and technology to wellness, travel, finance, and local topics, there truly is something for everyone.
I attended my first class this week, ,a very informative retirement presentation from representatives with New York Life (who also happen to be CCU alumni.) I appreciated that the discussion was not a sales pitch but was educational, practical, and focused on helping people better understand retirement planning and ways to maximize opportunities throughout the years ahead.
One important takeaway was something many families are beginning to experience firsthand: people are living longer than ever before. The presentation touched on planning ahead for potential longterm care needs, understanding options that may help protect assets, and ways to potentially reduce tax liabilities over time.
No matter what stage of life you’re in, knowledge is empowering. I'm signed up for a writing course and a history of bourbon course this summer.

Mark your calendars for May 15th. One of my favorite local bands will be 'Groovin on the Green'. (200 Laurel St.) Can't wait to see Chocolate Chip & Company. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and pick your spot before 7:30.
