The Statewide Primary Election is today, Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

All eligible voters are encouraged to participate in the political process by exercising their right to vote.

AN ONGOING PARTNERSHIP THAT SAVES LOTS OF LIVES

At last night's Horry County Council meeting, Kara Byrd and Meggin Heath of the American Red Cross of South Carolina made a presentation recognizing Horry County Government's ongoing partnership with their organization, spanning decades, and specifically the work of Administrative Assistant Kelly Brosky, in organizing blood drives across the county, often receiving successful donations from Horry County Government employees.

Byrd and Heath spoke about the many lives saved through these efforts, as well as the financial and logistical support the American Red Cross of South Carolina provides residents of Horry County following residential structure fires.

Administrator Barry Spivey joined these three for the presentation, all drawing a well-deserved round of applause from Horry County Council, staff and the public in attendance.
