Happy 108th birthday to Augustine "Gus" Preno of Little River! He’s a legendary American hero. Gus is a World War II Navy veteran who was aboard the desroyer USS Melville on D-Day. After his military service he worked for AAA for nearly 50 years in Philadelphia. He met his beautiful wife on a blind date during World War I| while his ship was in port in New York City. They were married 69 years before she passed 11 years ago. God bless you, Gus and thank you for your service to our Country and humanity!
