Rooted Radical Birth

These words resonate with me so deeply as I navigate the decision of who will attend my upcoming birth.

I have come to realize that I don't NEED anyone there. My body was made to create and birth my baby and I can feel that intuition so deeply within myself.

I may, however, WANT someone to be there to support me. I will, of course, have my loving, strong, caring, and capable husband with me, but what about a wise woman? A sister? A woman who has experienced or witnessed wild birth and knows that I do not NEED her presence, her experience, nor her hands in order to birth, but I may desire her sisterhood during this transformative time.

This is the essence of radical birth keeping.

I will walk with you through the darkness,
As you remember your light.
