Kelly: When’s the last time you jumped?!
Laura: I have no idea… a long time ago.
Kelly: Let’s try it!
Laura: ** looks at me like I’m crazy **
Then absolutely crushes it!
Do you do jump training with your neuro clients?! If not… you definitely should! Here’s just a few reasons why:
1) Helps increase power production
2) Challenges coordination and motor control
3) Great for bone health
4) Increases confidence by showing clients they’re capable of more than they think!

🔥Hot Take: The "why" is the most important question you should be able to answer about an intervention.
Knowing the "why" lets you:
- Connect the intervention directly to the client's goals
- Build rapport and get buy in
- Create specificity and salience
- Help client's understand the connection between impairments, function and goals
❌If someone can't tell you the "why" behind an intervention that is a major red flag in our book!
And. . . the "why" has to be specific! "To build strength" or "to improve balance" doesn't cut it.
Explaining the "why" behind interventions is something we regularly do with our clients and it often sparks great conversations that dive into their goals and helps us get even more specific with our sessions!

published this article earlier this week and just everything in it is so true! Access to exercise and fitness is something we are so passionate about and this is a major piece of the framework at Limitless.

Interested in adaptive training for individuals with neurologic injuries and diagnoses?! We'd love to talk with you more!
Let's talk gait!🚶
Video 1 shows decreased hip extension and minimal terminal stance of the left (affected) leg and asymmetrical, decreased step length on the right side.
Yes, there also impairments in swing phase that we've been working on . . . BUT if you aren't achieving terminal stance, you're setting yourself up to make swing phase even more difficult.
During this session we focused on:
1) Walking with resistance behind the right leg
2) Resisted walking with posterior pull at the hips
3) Incline walking on the treadmill
4) Resisted right leg step taps with and without upper extremity activities
Video 2 was taken immediately after these interventions and were able to see increased hip extension and terminal stance on the left and a much larger, more symmetrical step with the right!
We love a good gait training session! Come join us for one!
✨Life at Limitless lately … and we’re loving it!
Have you ever felt like the room was spinning when you sat up or rolled over in bed? Has anyone ever talked to you about the crystals in your inner ear?
This could be BPPV, or Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, and there is a quick fix for this type of vertigo!
Not pictured here was the full treatment which included another treatment maneuver based on the location of the crystals. This helped Greg to get back to normal daily life fast!
We can help you too! Give us a call or schedule online!
