๐ค WHY DO MOST INJURIES HAPPENโ๏ธ
FACT: Most injuries happen because your body isnโt prepared to handle the stress being placed on it. While excessive volume can absolutely contribute to injury, I typically look at three things first: asymmetry, fascia health, and weakness.
๐ Asymmetry & Imbalances
Most people have one side that is stronger, more stable, or more mobile than the other. Over time, those imbalances create compensation patterns that place excessive stress on joints, tendons, and muscles.
๐ Fascia Health
Fascia is the connective tissue network that surrounds and integrates every muscle in your body. When fascia becomes restricted, dehydrated, or bound down, movement quality suffers. AND this is why I believe in trigger point work, soft tissue therapy, massage, mobility work, and fascia release techniques.
๐ Weakness
This is especially true for athletes. If your muscles arenโt strong enough to absorb force, produce force, or stabilize joints, something eventually breaks down.
