This Saturday marks the 82nd anniversary of the landings on Normandy Beach. To commemorate, this photo of St. John’s Church circa 1941-1945 has a familiar flag hung up between two trees. This is a Blue Star Service Flag hung to show how many men were enlisted in the Armed Forces during the Second World War. Just barley visible is a number under the star, which could possibly be how many Concord men had joined the war effort.
