You might think that vehicles only run on gasoline and electricity these days, but there are many other alternative fuels powering transportation.

Compressed natural gas (CNG): Less carbon-intensive, cleaner burning fuel solution useful for medium and heavy-duty vehicle sectors.

Propane (LNG): Reduced emissions compared to gasoline or diesel, and useful for fleet applications as well as in smaller off-road applications such as generators and forklifts.

Biodiesel: Less carbon-intensive, renewable and biodegradable fuel substitute for diesel.

Renewable Diesel: Similar to biodiesel, it is a drop in fuel substitute for diesel made from renewable feedstocks.

NH currently has 825 public electric vehicle charging ports, 14 propane (LNG) and 3 compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations, all of which are available for public use.

Curious where these stations are located in NH and throughout the USA/Canada for your next trip? Visit the Alternative Fuels Data Center's Station Locator tool to learn more: https://afdc.energy.gov/stations #/find/nearest

The Town of Belmont was awarded a grant of nearly $194,000 of Volkswagen Trust funding to replace an aging 2001 dump truck with this shiny new truck, reducing costs and emissions. The NH Department of Environmental Services has funds remaining for similar projects!
