Cabarrus County especially needs a higher commitment to public education. Leadership has been sorely needed.

While charters and private schools can be good options for some children, public schools are the only institution that guarantees an education to every child, and that fact is personal to me. As a child who struggled to learn how to read, I am the living legacy of investments in public education. Our public schools need a champion who understands the power of that investment and is willing to fight for it.
