We Have MS Too

A very happy World MS day from We Have MS Too! I wanted to post this picture from our most recent meeting in honor of today to recognize these intelligent young advocates for the MS community. One of the main topics of discussion this meeting was observation and its importance as a caregiver, especially moving into these summer months. Wishing all the best 🧡🧡🧡

Wishing a very happy Mother’s Day to all of our We Have MS Too moms! To both those afflicted and those that are caregivers, we are incredibly grateful for your hard work and support; this journey would not be possible without you guys. You all have raised incredible and intelligent kids who have each played a huge role in We Have MS Too’s development. I hope everyone is able to connect with those loved ones on this special day🧡🧡🧡

Introducing Mrs. Michaela Pohl! Michaela is a wife, a mom of two young kids, a grief and loss mental health therapist, and an adult child of a parent with MS.

Her mother was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS almost 35 years ago, soon after Michaela was born. Her mother’s MS greatly affects her mother’s mood, her physical abilities, and her cognitive abilities. When Michaela was a freshman in high school, her maternal aunt died from complications of MS and this is when Michaela learned about her mother’s MS and her role as a co-caregiver began. Michaela is grateful for MS Youth Camp where she met other teens navigating being a teenager while also being caregivers to their parents with MS.

In honor of MS Awareness Month, we will be hosting Michaela in our March meeting as a guest speaker! I highly recommend any warrior who is able to to join. Michaela 's experiences both working with children of MS and being a child of MS make her an incredible resource for this organization. Be sure to come ready to learn about a new perspective, ask questions, and draw connections!
