At first, addiction crept in quietly, offering a false sense of comfort and escape. But it quickly transformed into a monster, consuming my time, my thoughts, and my energy. As the grip of addiction tightened, the people who loved me most were pushed to the margins. I broke the trust of my family, alienated my closest friends, and slowly isolated myself in the darkness of my addiction.

The most agonizing loss, however, was my relationship with God. The shame and guilt of my lifestyle took over, and I found myself avoiding prayer. I couldn’t bear to face Him. I felt unworthy of His grace, and the gap between me and my Creator widened until He felt like a distant memory. I was spiritually bankrupt, lost, and running on empty.

The turning point didn’t come from my own strength; it came when I finally surrendered. Hitting rock bottom was terrifying, but it forced me to cry out for help. That is when I found my way to the faith-based recovery program at Divine Healing. Stepping through those doors was frightening, but it also felt like stepping out of a storm and into the light.

At Divine Healing, the focus went far beyond breaking physical addiction—it was about healing the soul. Surrounded by a fellowship of others walking the same path, I finally had the time and support to address the root causes of my pain in a safe and structured environment. I experienced the unconditional love of Christ. I learned that God had never left my side—even in the darkest basements and loneliest moments—and that His grace was far greater than any of my mistakes. Surrendering my burdens to Him lifted the crushing weight of shame I had been carrying.

Today, my life looks entirely different. My relationships with my family are being painstakingly restored, and the trust I broke is slowly being rebuilt through consistent, honest actions. Most importantly, my relationship with God is stronger than ever before. I talk to Him every day, relying on His strength instead of my own. My time at Divine Healing didn’t just make me sober; it made me a better person—kinder, more patient, and filled with a renewed sense of purpose.

I am no longer a slave to my past but a living testament to the fact that God’s love can redeem and restore anyone.
