Friday, I was honored to attend the 2nd Annual Columbus Police Youth Summit, where students from 7 local high schools came together to learn, connect, and celebrate.

From inspiring words by to line dancing, raffles, and plenty of fun, the energy in the room was all about lifting up our young people. Events like this remind us that public safety is about more than response—it’s about building trust, opportunity, and showing our youth that the Division of Police and our entire community are rooting for their success.

Grateful to the officers, educators, and community partners who make gatherings like this possible. Together, we are investing in the future of Columbus.

What a weekend of community! Thanks to Pastor Stanley and the Greater Twelfth Missionary Baptist Church for a very successful Windsor Festival and all his work in the Linden Community. Thank you Pastor Davis for Family Fest in the King Lincoln - Bronzeville community. From there made it to the African Festival and wrapped up a beautiful Saturday at Jazz in the Park in Linden. One thing is for certain, Columbus does community well!
