Lemon + blueberry is such a classic pairing. This is a vanilla bean cupcake with fresh blueberries and fresh lemon juice and zest mixed in, topped off with homemade blueberry reduction and a honey, lemon and vanilla cream cheese frosting. Garnished with more fresh blueberries. 🧁🧁

Blueberry and blackberries are at their peak right now. Enjoy them in one of my favorite frostings, my blackberry/blueberry buttercream. I begin by making a fresh berry purée, reduce it way, way down and then chill it, then I add it to my vanilla buttercream. My personal preference is pairing it with chocolate cake, but it would be great with vanilla cake or lemon cake as well. Cupcakes, mini cupcakes, sheet cakes and layer cakes available!
