Yesterday, we said goodbye to our 2025–26 AmeriCorps College & Career Guides as they completed their year of service with I Know I Can.

Our AmeriCorps team played a vital role in our middle school programming, helping students start to picture their futures and explore the many paths available to them.

In addition to their work in schools, they also supported I Know I Can programs and events throughout the year and gave back to the community through several service projects.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving students. We wish you all the best as you begin your next adventures! 💙

One of today’s highlights on the College & Career Coach at Columbus Africentric Early College was a great conversation between our College Advising Manager, Alana Cornelius, and a group of rising 6th and 7th graders about preparing for high school, dreaming big, and exploring their future opportunities.

Today’s Legacy Connections spotlight features Tyrrell Byrd, a 2015 Founders Scholarship recipient who graduated from Tuskegee University in 2019.

Now, Tyrrell serves as a College Advising Manager at I Know I Can, helping students navigate their own college and career journeys. This year, he had the opportunity to support two Founders Scholarship recipients from Marion-Franklin High School, where he works with students every day—a full-circle moment that reflects the lasting impact of the scholarship.

After more than four years of partnership, our work in Reynoldsburg City Schools has come to a close following the loss of federal GEAR UP funding.
