I don’t think any parent is ever truly ready for the moment their tiny newborn becomes an eight-year-old. Today, we celebrate sweet Miss Caroline—eight years of kindness, laughter, and that spark that only she brings. My wish for her is as big as her heart: that she keeps being this beautifully compassionate, wildly smart, and endlessly loving human. Here’s to her kindness lighting up the world one smile at a time, and to all the adventures and dreams waiting for her just around the bend. Happy Birthday, Caroline.

It feels like yesterday that I was a part of the Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute in 2019, walking alongside trailblazers like former Ohio Auditor and Attorney General Betty Montgomery and former Speaker of the Ohio House Jo Ann Davidson—two women who embodied commitment to common-sense solutions and inspired countless others, myself included.

Speaker Davidson’s legacy isn’t just about political titles or breaking ceilings (though she certainly did that!); it’s about the powerful, patient art of working together for the good of our communities.

In a time when divisiveness often takes center stage, her example reminds me that true leadership lifts up working families, champions women, and finds common ground to move us all forward.

Here’s to Speaker Jo Ann Davidson’s enduring spirit and her gift of showing us what it means to lead with purpose and grace. 🕊 We certainly lost a great one today.
