Within a couple of hours of being born, this little one lay beside me in the hospital, her eyes already wide and scanning the new world around her. There’s not a single thing this wild child has not taken to in her own time, something I learned very quickly as parental chatter focused in on milestones and sleeping habits. This babe was not to be tamed by trainings and tutorials, but rather listened to and guided through each wobbly step. No milestone could match the fire which radiated from her as her little soul grew to become one of the most treasured things my world has known.

She feels with every beat of her heart, laughs with the greatest echo of joy and her eyes sparkle with earthly browns in the shape of tear drop gemstones. I’ve watched her trusting hands grip my pinky to my palms as I’ve led her through really dark days to crashing ocean waves. She is bred from all that is beautiful in this world, even when the world challenges this with its darkness - And yet she pierces these blackened skies with stardust.

She is my Amelie Ping. My wild and challenging girl, a creature whose curiousity has brought her an elite appetite, so many adventures and friends at every Cafe she’s entered. Celebrating your birthday is my most favourite of days, because it’s the day this chapter book began.

Happiest of days ahead, my darling girl. Time for cake and pastries xx

I need seasons in my life.
For my body to feel the warm and the cold.
For my soul to take root and take rest.
To be challenged to adapt and refresh.
I need it all.
New seasons are approaching, and much change to come.
Excited, thankful.
Terrified, uncertain.
But in the end, I need it all.

3. Solo matinee at the to finally catch . Absolutely beautiful. Cried while reflecting on the loss of my own parent in my early years, but also on my woven presence in parenthood today. Just stunning.

4. Cards from afar and gifts that my daughter PROMISED were not legos. Spoiler: they were legos! She wanted to gift me a toy for both of us to play with. ♥️

5. Deep tissue Massage . Just lovely.

6. Spent a morning at my local library and checked out a lovely novel before heading to for my Aussie Capp.

7. The most delicious meal at . If you’ve yet to try it - go get it. However I felt horribly underdressed sitting next to this stunner…

8. Always appreciate snow on my birthday. I adore it greatly. Something about the stillness and chill that makes me feel like I can breathe in and feel the life still brewing inside me ♥️ ❄️

Embrace the small moments -

The moments that didn’t cost a fortune or tick a box off the bucket list;

The moments where you merely felt the sunlight coming through your kitchen, or sat to dinner with loved ones;

The days where you poured that cup of coffee and turned the pages of an old book;

The weeks where sadness and stress took over, but in that alone, you knew that life was lived and growth was afoot;

The months that blend together with play and love, daily hugs and hellos;

Those small moments that no one asks about because it’s not deemed collectively extraordinary but merely beautiful in the eyes of the beholder.
