Day 24 - when talking about why ISR lessons differ from other lessons, I think the biggest distinction between ISR and other survival lessons and tradition swim lessons is this : Team Work!
The ISR team provides 8 weeks of training to their instructors (60+ hours in water training and 60+ hours classroom work) and sets them up with unlimited resources for support help and educational growth. That means every day I can email someone and they will help me problem solve anything I need help with. I never feel like they will judge me for something I may have done wrong - their goal is for me to be better so we (ISR) can be better! They will also send me additional resources to learn how to stop problems before they start.
I am incredibly lucky and proud to be a part of ISR! Thank you for providing all the necessary tools and support for me and all the ISR instructors to be able to provide the best and safest lessons!

Day 21 - Having fun is probably the best part of being human - as an ISR instructor I tend to focus on the what ifs and did you knows; but I really just want your child to be skilled in the water so the can have fun in the water safely!!
So … If you are headed on vacation this holiday season be sure to pack bright colored swim wear! It will help you identify your child quickly in a crowd and will also make them easier to see in the water!

Day 18 - During a session I will hear 2 questions, from at least 1 parent -
1 - Don’t babies instinctually know how to float?
2 - How does my child know how to hold their breath?
It is not instinctual but ISR uses behavioral training to positively reinforce correct behaviors and voilà - your child has mastered a new skills like breath control or buoyancy!
