June is Wound Healing Awareness Month! 👣
Doctors of Podiatric Medicine are experts in slow-to-heal wounds and diabetic foot ulcers.
Anyone who has diabetes can develop a foot ulcer. Ulcers form due to a combination of factors, including a lack of sensation in the foot, poor circulation, foot deformities, irritation (such as friction or pressure), trauma, and the duration of diabetes. These wounds can lead to complications, including infection and amputation.
The good news? If you have a foot ulcer, Doctors of Podiatric Medicine can help! Our members work every day to treat foot wounds, which reduces the risk of infection, reduces healthcare costs, and improves the quality of life for Ohioans. Thank you for all you do, OHFAMA members! 👣
