Playful Paws pack has lost three members recently that we wanted to share how special they all were.
Our Jenny girl. Her mom and dad were blessed with her from a prison program where she was initially called Jersey Girl. Jenny loved to bask in the sun for as long as possible in the yard given the chance when she would stay over. She was an excellent warning system against the evil that would step foot on our porch to deliver a package 📦 🤣. She was a fickle eater. She was no stranger to a good snuggle fest on the sofa and she would give eyes that just wanted to please/love you. She also tolerated her popcorn cutie Australian Shepherd brother, Fitz.
Mr. Gus. Gus had the best teefs so doing anything to get him to smile while visiting with us was a top priority! He was a great confident walking companion for other pups 🐶 hanging at the homestead. He preferred when I would heat up his homemade meals and hand feed him which I was certainly happy to oblige. He loved his play dates chumming around with Beacon and Calvin. What a handsome little dude.
And lastly, Ira. Ira I felt like I had known forever. He was the “Uncle” when he came to stay over. He was boss man and it’s his way or the highway. He was a tiny but mighty guy. All the big pups seems to obey his every command. He was a traveler. He was a very happy walker and a content car passenger. He was very much mama’s boy in the best way possible. He, too, was a fantastic snuggler when it was nap time.
All of these babies- we love them so much and will forever. To say they are missed doesn’t seem like a strong enough word but it never is when we lose those we love. Rest in all the love sweet angels.

What some of our furry crew has been up to lately.

On August 13, 2023, Playful Paws beloved mascot, caretaker, co-founder, recurring employee of the month, and best friend crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her brother, Frank and all the past earthly pack members.
To say she is terribly missed and will continue to be missed is a major understatement. Her feline siblings, Weiland, Summit, Ping, and Tito have greatly noticed her absence.
Madison was 18 years old when she left us. She loved playing with the big dogs always especially her Pitties, for example Luca and QT Pie. She liked all the treats you could spare even though her gut didn’t agree with half of the treats out there. She loved hosting all pups that came for sleepovers- playing in the yard, zoomies in the living room, going on walks, murdering the squeaky toys…ya know, pup stuff. She loved her getaways to sleep over at her grandma’s house too since she was more generous with the snacks, but all the good love too. She loved having her own float when she would visit her grandpa’s swimming pool - and also be on clean up duty for any unattended floor snacks. She loved “gettin’ it” and playing the “monster hand game” with her Anya.
Most of all, she loved taking care of her mom and her mom taking care of her. I don’t think she would have traded one iota of a second walking next to anyone else for a lifetime aside from her mama, Julie. Madison will forever be Julie’s light.
Rest in forever love our sweet Madison.
