with Advocates4nurses I have said this for far too many years & it’s not landing still. If you are an LPN doing foot care, please know your scope. Just because someone sells you a course, a certification, or an E-book on foot care does not give you the pass to launch a senior foot care business. Yes nurses have been shut down bc they were practicing beyond their scope. Yes nurses have lost their licensed. Yes people will sell you anything to make a sale! As an LPN, your license is dependent. Meaning you work under the supervision of an RN, Dr, or NP. To have a RN sign off on your work means nothing if she is not in the building with you while providing that foot care service. As an RN I would also guard my license. Signing off on a lpn that’s working independently in the community without your oversight puts your license at risk. Please be careful. I am hearing a lot of scary stories. People believing what they want, till the board contacts them. It’s too late then to learn what you should have learned prior to launching that foot care business.
