Photographing the Bushnell Building is always a reminder that great spaces carry stories.

Commissioned in 1893 by Governor Asa S. Bushnell, this Downtown Springfield landmark blends Renaissance Revival architecture, carved terra-cotta details, and a legacy that once housed banks, retailers, law firms—and even the office where the Wright Brothers’ patents were filed.

I had the opportunity to photograph the Bushnell during their website rebrand, capturing the character and craftsmanship that make it so iconic. This week, I went back to document newly available spaces for lease, continuing the visual story of a building that proves history and modern innovation can coexist.

As one of only ten National Historic Register buildings in the U.S. with Platinum LEED certification, the Bushnell is a true example of sustainability meeting heritage.

Honored to have had the opportunity to capture such a meaningful landmark and see what’s next for this beautiful Springfield landmark🙌
