rule #1: don't take everything a platform puts out to heart.

anyone else feeling it with the low engagement and low performance? i've talked to brands that flipped to utilizing reels and video like instagram said to do yet are seeing engagement tank.

i'm not here to say do this or that, but do you. do what works for your brands so that your messaging and content are consistent.

if they don't believe in organic social, cut them off ✂️

listen — organic social is the community, it's the credibility and brand reputation, the awareness factor, and so much more.

don't sleep on your organic social. it's what your targeted audience sees when they click over from that paid ad.

If there's one thing that Instagram is going to do, they're going to make some updates to their app.

Here are the updates that have been announced (so far):

○ Increase Control — you can hide your likes, hidden words in DMs, and filter what you want to see on the explore page.
○ Timeline Changes — hello chronological order (finally!), favorites timeline, reels, and general timeline.
○ Video Content — Instagram is pushing video content more and they want you to create reels.
○ Likes on stories — an easy way to engage with stories now!

Let's see what's next... there is still a lot of 2022 left for changes.

simple ways to tell your audience and potential clients who you are include having your profile put together.

your profile picture, whether it's a picture of you or your logo or what represents your brand, will give them something to look.

having a bio to tell them about your business and brand will give them your quick intro. include what you need them to know right away.

highlights are special. you can capture your services, intros, tips, etc. in these. we love them and we're sure your audience will, too.

very simple to update these and make sure you include that link if you have a website or contact page.

is your out of office prep done? you have 1-to-2 days to get it together and enjoy a mini break!

this trend where businesses and social partners are sharing their holiday schedule and when they're taking breaks has been my favorite. it's well-deserved and helpful for the clients. everyone deserves a break, you just need to let your team and clients/consumers know there will be a wait time.

out of office prep:
• communicate with clients, partners, & team — make sure that everyone that needs to know, knows that you'll be out of office and either slow to respond or not going to be able to respond until a specific date. it's nice to know ahead of time who to reach-out to when a lead or point-of-contact is out of commission.
• set-up your out of office auto-response — so helpful! let people know that are sending you emails and expecting responses that you will be slow to respond or out of office. no one will be waiting on a follow-up or blowing up your email if they know what's up.
• block off your calendar as a reminder — this is more-so for you, but it's helpful for those that can view your calendar, as well. block off the days you are out and invite those that need to know. and set-up times where you'll check your email and only check the email during those times. it'll help you enjoy your break!

now, go enjoy your holiday break! and, set reminders for times that you'll check your email so you aren't obsessing over it all day.
