The best parent and child learning often happens with hands-on experiences! During a recent "Mealtime Routines" Triple P parent group at a Delaware County WIC, the kiddos had a great time making their own cheese sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, and cutting up their fresh fruits and veggies. Our Triple P Coordinator, Melinda, even got her own hands-on learning experience shopping for the group lunch -- checking for the exact ounces, whole grain options, and looking for that WIC-approved sticker!

Every page of our 2025 Impact Report tells a story of the children, families, child care professionals, and communities we serve.

To celebrate its release, we asked a few members of our team to share the page that means the most to them and why. Their reflections remind us that behind every statistic is a person, a partnership, and a shared commitment to making a difference across central Ohio.

Whether it's supporting child care providers, strengthening families through home visiting, helping small businesses thrive, or staying rooted in our mission, every page represents the impact we create together.

We invite you to explore our 2025 Impact Report and see how, together with our partners and community, we're building brighter futures for children and families.

The most powerful learning tool isn't a fancy toy... it's a book.

Reading aloud helps children build vocabulary, strengthen communication skills, spark imagination, and create meaningful moments they'll remember for years to come.

Just a few minutes a day can make a big difference.

What's your child's favorite book right now? Drop the title in the comments!

What an inspiring day at our STEAM Conference! 💡🎨🔬

We loved spending the day with early childhood professionals from across central Ohio who came together to learn new ways to educate, support, and affirm both their fellow educators and the young children they serve every day.

From hands-on activities and engaging presentations to meaningful conversations and fresh ideas, the day was filled with collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to strengthening early childhood education throughout our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, presented, and helped make this event such a success. We can't wait to see the amazing ways you'll bring these ideas back to your classrooms and programs!

Swipe through some of our favorite moments from the day and see if you can spot yourself or your colleagues!

Eight members of our team spent a shift at the concession stand for the U.S. Senior Men's Open at Scioto Country Club this week — slinging snacks, running orders, and having a blast while doing it.
Every dollar raised through the tournament's volunteer fundraising program goes right back into supporting our work for kids and families across central Ohio, so a big thank-you to this crew for giving their day (and their feet) to the cause. We're excited for day 2!

One way to empower child care professionals is by encouraging them to use their voice and claim their rightful seat at the table when it comes to early learning policy. Action for Children recently partnered with the City of Columbus - City Hall to survey Early Start Columbus participants about upcoming plans for the program. The responses collected were presented by our VP of Child Care Education and Initiatives, Dr. Kat Glenn-Applegate. The results? Valuable conversation, more informed city and county leaders, and new avenues of communication for early learning professionals!
