B.R.E.A.D. Organization - Building Responsibility Equality And Dignity
04/22/2026
Today’s BREAD Earth Day Forum was powerful, informative, and urgent. We came together around one clear truth: tree loss is a public health issue. Neighborhoods with fewer trees often face hotter streets, poorer air quality, and higher rates of asthma and other health challenges. Protecting and expanding tree canopy is about more than beauty—it is about health, equity, and dignity.
BREAD is committed to fighting for policies that protect mature trees and invest in neighborhoods that need them most. Trees protect us. We protect trees. The movement continues, and Columbus is ready.

🌳 Our Trees. Our Health. Why Tree Loss Matters. 🌳
This is not just about trees.
This is about who gets to breathe clean air… and who doesn’t.
Across our city, neighborhoods with fewer trees face higher rates of asthma, heat, and chronic illness. This is more than a matter of health…it’s a matter of justice.
We believe
🌱 Every child deserves shade.
🌱 Every family deserves clean air.
🌱 Every neighborhood deserves to thrive.
Join B.R.E.A.D. this Earth Day as we confront the reality of tree loss—and organize for real solutions that protect our communities and our future.
