60% of job seekers quit in the middle of filling out online job applications because of their length or complexity.
Something that should be a non-issue has become a huge problem.
We never could understand why companies make it so time-consuming and painful to answer a job ad.
Here are some helpful suggestions for online Job ads.
1. Keep it Short
2. Keep it Simple
3. Always respond to the candidate
If you need an extra hand in recruiting to help find the right talent, we are always here to help.
You need an intern.
But you probably already know this.
However, have you considered what an intern could bring to your professional career and your company beyond simply getting things done for you?
Yes, there’s that.
But interns also hold deeper advantages. For instance, they:
1. Can bring talent to your team where you most need it. A young, energetic professional right out of school comes equipped with fresh knowledge to infuse your efforts.
2. Can also bring much-needed diversity, not just in terms of your racial, gender and other demographics, but to break up a homogeneous culture in general. Hire interns from different molds and you’ll quickly see why an infusion of diversity in your team is so valuable.
3. Gladly evangelize your mission. Interns can be energetic advocates of your mission far beyond the walls of your company.
4. Give you an opportunity to be a mentor, and this is an often-overlooked benefit of managing interns. Mentorship can be an extremely rewarding experience that will change not just your intern’s career trajectory, but your own.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done in a first job interview?
We’ve heard some crazy stories about candidate misfires during interviews. You want to get attention in a job interview. But it has to be the right kind of attention.
1. Come unprepared. You should have a good handle on the role and the company.
2. Ask about drug or background checks right off the bat. I probably don’t need to
explain why this might seem wonky to a hiring manager.
3. Ask about vacation or benefits up front. Ditto.
4. Eat or drink during the interview, even if it’s a phone interview.
5. Assume the interviewer read your resume so closely that you don’t need to repeat
any of the information on it.
6. Humblebrag — hiring managers see right through this ego-heavy technique.
7. Display arrogance. Never a quality hiring managers look for.
8. Bad-mouth your last job or boss. This shows poor character. End of story.
