SCDOT contractors are finishing up roadwork in Dorchester County! 🚧
SC 61 is getting five miles of safety improvements, between SC 165 and US 17A. Those upgrades include repaving, which is actively being completed along the route.
As crews work to finish this project by the end of August, please slow down when driving through the work zone to keep them safe!

Crews have placed new bridge spans for the bridge replacement project happening on Pace Bridge Road in Greenville County. This bridge, crossing the South Saluda River, is being replaced as part of Bridge Package 19 and the SCDOT Closed and Load Restricted Program.
Right now, crews are replacing the previous structure with stronger materials and are raising the bridge by 3 feet to make sure this bridge is sturdy for years to come. The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

SCDOT contractors are making progress in Calhoun County, working in the median and along the shoulders of I-26 as we work to widen the interstate between Charleston and Columbia.

🚧 Safety upgrades are underway along 6.3 miles of US 521 near Rembert to prevent run-off-the-road crashes and save lives. 🚧
To protect the 7,700 daily drivers on this corridor, crews are implementing targeted engineering solutions, including shoulder improvements and brighter pavement markings.
This project is expected to wrap up by early Summer 2027.
🚧 Crews have been working on a 2-mile road diet project on US 76 stretching from North Main Street to Bleckley Street in Anderson County. 🚧
The project goes around Linley Park, which sees cars, bikes, and pedestrians every day. 🚗🚴🚶
In order to make these streets safer for everyone, SCDOT traffic engineers developed a new roadway design: less room for cars and more room for cyclists and pedestrians.
The final touches on the project are expected to be in place by August.
