Reverse Hyper for Low Back Resilience
The Reverse Hyperextension (RHE) aims to target the hip extensors (gluteus maximus and hamstrings) and the erector spinae by keeping the upper body immobile. This progression may be helpful for people experiencing low back pain to gradually increase the challenge on core stabilization and glute/hamstring activation.
✅The Reverse Hyper can reduce lumbar flexion while increasing the range of motion in the hips to help improve spine stabilization with the erectors and core musculatures while improving the activation of posterior chain muscles and strengthening them.
❗️One important thing to remember is to keep the spine from moving too much as you lower the legs down.
