Got most of the Supercharger mocked up and hit a snag. I am going to space the carb hat 2” to straighten the flow as well as clear the dual needle and seat bowl. So I’ll wait to cut my 4” aluminum charge pipe. Then I can mock up where the BOV goes and get a b**g installed. Also installing 20an suction hose connection and 12an for heater core connection since this will be driven. I’ll most definitely be building a different hood for the car to clear charge pipe and BOV.

Engine assembly is almost complete. Had a ton of work dealing with making my $900 (I have to say that) oil pan fit. Had it on and off the engine no less than 26 times.

I finally was able to unpack my valvetrain to check piston to valve clearance. I also checked deck to piston measurements so we make sure we don’t kiss the head with my aluminum rod growth.

Tom Kuhn was so meticulous about packing my parts when I bought the top end package from him. BTW Tom, those pushrods worked perfectly!! Thank you sir. I’m giddy like a schoolboy.

I’ll get some good pictures but I’m too excited to wait. Corey Williamson pulled off the challenging build of my short block. It spins nice and free and we already found another minor issue, my $1000 oil pan needs modifications to clear my $1000 oil pump. 😜 I borrowed some photos from another fellow poncho guy who has same pump and pan situation and his modifications to the pan.

Fish Chassis Works in St Louis finished up my Chromoly Stub. Going to bring the car home and start rocking and rolling on it as soon as my Garage is finished in the next few weeks. Also got an update that my Bullet is being assembled by my Buddy Corey Williamson. Looking forward to getting this volatile combo up and running!

Excited to announce we should have our machine work completed at PMI in Jeff City next week, then it’s on to assembly of our Pontiac. I am actually assembling the engine myself after dealing with nearly a years worth of setbacks with other shops. I’ve done it before and this time around I can teach my Sons how to do it!

Well the Firebird is a little disassembled at the moment! My whole plan, despite all the good advice to leave it alone, I’ve ragged it out and going to begin installing my Pontiac engine with 84mm TorqStorm and Powerglide. I have a new Fab 9” housing with all the goodies going in the rear. All new suspension front and rear. Here’s how she sits and I mocked up my wheels that still don’t fit! Need to start installing mini tubs to make room for the meats. They will sit lower in the wheel wells and tuck in a few inches. It’s gonna be Angry Bird for Sure.
